Hoodie Bandit" Who Removed Hoodie During Robbery in Compton

On 07/21/18, at 1:20pm, An armed robbery of the AM/PM convenience store located at 2820 Alondra Blvd., in the city of Compton Suspect. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 28 years old, 6 feet tall, 140 pounds, with chin beard, black hair and brown eyes. The suspect was armed with a black/gray semi-automatic handgun. The suspect entered the store with customers inside brandished a weapon demanding money from the cash register. The cashiers did not understand what was being said because the suspect’s mouth was covered with his hoodie sweatshirt. The suspect removed the hoodie from his mouth exposing his face and again brandishing the handgun demanded money stating “I’ll put a bullet in your face”. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money from the register he fled the location last seen driving southbound on S. Washington Avenue in a silver newer model SUV, possibly an Infiniti or Audi with black rims. More...

In order to meet the challenges of the rise of school violence, Century Station has dedicated resources to the establishment of a School Threat Assessment & Resources (STAR) team pilot program. Over the past two decades, a handful of notable incidents that have come to define school shootings have spread fear across the country. This rising epidemic of youth related violence has forever changed the culture of students, parents and instructors. Unfortunately, with the recent active shooter related incidents, which are posted daily on social media or made by telephone, they often disrupt the learning environment, even when it is determined there is no validity to the threat. It was supposed to be a day of optimism and new beginnings. On the morning of March 9th, 1921, William I. Traeger was sworn in as the twenty-second man to serve as Sheriff of Los Angeles County. By days end however, the Los Angeles county jail experienced the largest riot in its history and Traeger was forced to intervene to bring it to an end. This riot, and an even larger one at the end of the month, accelerated movement for an undertaking that was long overdue.
