BGE - West Hollywood Christopher Street West Parade

BGE - West Hollywood Christopher Street West Parade

#BearGoesEverywhere traveled to West Hollywood and visited the starting point of the Christopher Street West Parade on Santa Monica Blvd and San Vicente Road.

Christopher Street Parade began in June of 1970 in New York City, where thousands gathered at the Sheridan Square in support of Gay Pride.  That was the first permitted parade advocating gay rights.

Christopher Street West (CSW) is a non-profit organization, who is the active voice for the LGBTQ community across the greater Los Angeles Area, which organizes the LA Pride Parade and Festival every June in the City of West Hollywood.  This year is the #LAPRIDE #JUSTUNITE story.

The Los Angeles Sheriff Department takes great pride in being involved during these festivities. If you are interested in attending the event, whether it’s the parade or the concert, look at the 2019 Festival at www.LAPRIDE.ORG and if you do attend the parade, say “hi” to Sheriff Alex Villanueva and any of our deputy personnel you may see keeping you safe along the parade route and throughout the city.

Until next time, everyone stay safe and look out for the Bear in your city.
