This week the Bear heads over to the city of San Dimas and pays a visit to Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park. Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park is named after the supervisor who assumed responsibility for creating this beautiful park located in the Puddingstone Reservoir area in 1959.

This man-made recreational area is approximately 1,800 acres which includes a: 250 acre lake and 14 miles of trails. Bonelli Park is a great place to take the family because it offers an abundance of recreational activities including: boating, jet skiing, fishing, swimming, picnicking, nature walks, hiking, jogging, and biking.

There are also concessionaires offering RV camping and horseback riding. Bonelli Park annually hosts special events like fishing tournaments, concerts, triathlons, water sports and cultural events.

Bonelli Park is patrolled by our Park Bureau personnel. From Castaic Lake in the north to Hollywood Bowl in the west and Bonelli Park in the east, these men and women police approximately 177 county parks, golf courses and special event venues throughout Los Angeles County.

So if you are looking for some relaxation time, a nice trail run or a fun family get-together, head on over to Bonelli Park. As always, if you happen to see one of our fine deputies on a horse, ATV, or dirt bike be sure to say, “Hello.”
