Sheriff Alex Villanueva spoke today at the 2019 Contract City Manager’s Education Seminar in West Hollywood.

This two-day event will include presentations and active discussions focusing on law enforcement challenges and how they relate to providing services to cities throughout Southern California.

The Sheriff and Department leadership covered a range of topics including the new merit driven station commander selection process and an update on human trafficking. Among the many subjects covered, city managers were also briefed on the Sheriff’s plans to accelerate the deployment of body-worn cameras by this summer and Department’s robust efforts to increase recruitment.

The seminar also presented an opportunity for patrol division chiefs and station commanders to engage with the cities managers whose populations they serve.
