Emergency Services Detail consists of field and tactical paramedics and rescue recovery specialists #WomensHistoryMonth

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department has one of the hardest working and prestigious specialized units called the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB).  One of the many critical branches of this bureau is the Emergency Services Detail (ESD), originally established in the 1960’s.  This unit consists field and tactical paramedics and rescue recovery specialists.

Members of this unit undergo rigorous testing, as an understatement; only a small percentage make it through. The first female assigned to ESD was in 2000. To date, there have only been three women who have earned an elite position with ESD; and there is currently only one female deputy paramedic assigned to ESD. #WomensHistoryMonth
