#LASD Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Legendary Lawman / Law Woman pin gives special recognition to those dedicated deputies who have worked ten or more years in uniformed patrol, responding to calls for service.

The pin was created to honor Deputy David Powell, who served the community of Lakewood as a Patrol Deputy for over ten years and died in the line of duty.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, Sheriff Villanueva recognized 31 recipients with a sequentially numbered pin in the Hall of Justice.  Among the recipients was one female deputy from Parks Bureau.  Yesterday’s award ceremony brought the total number of deputies to have received this award over the years to 1,027; 35 of whom have been female.

Sheriff Villanueva personally thanked each awardee for their dedication to community service and to the citizens of Los Angeles County.  #WomensHistoryMonth2019 @JoinLASD
