Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau continues to assist Arcadia Police Department with a murder investigation. The victim was discovered in the backyard of her residence on the 300 block of East Forest Avenue in Arcadia, on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at approximately 7:00 a.m.

Investigators have learned that Arcadia Police Department received the call of a person down at the location. When officers arrived, they found a female in the backyard not breathing.

The victim, 76 year old Chyong Jen Tsai, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

The motive is unknown, and there is no suspect information at this time.

Investigators discovered the victim’s vehicle is missing and asking for your help in locating it. Her vehicle is a 2005 Lexus RX 300 white CA License plate 5LOG473.

In an effort to encourage witnesses to come forward with tips, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion introduced by Supervisor Kathryn Barger to offer a $20,000 reward in exchange for information that will help detectives identify and arrest the person or persons responsible for Tsai’s death.
