Compton Station YAL Boxing Show

Compton Station YAL Boxing Show

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Compton Station’s Youth Activity League hosted the Racial Harmony & LA riot Memorial boxing show today in the city of Compton.

Compton Sheriff’s Station YAL is one of the seventeen YAL programs sponsored by @SheriffsYouthFoundation, which provides deputies to mentor the youth and provide them an after-school educational environment to enrich their life skills, physical activities as well as esteem building activities.

Deputy Harkless proudly introduced one of his tough boxers, Emmanuel Jackson at the boxing show. After several years of training with the Compton Sheriff’s Station YAL’s boxing team, Emmanuel stepped into the ring with bravery and determination. Emmanuel, to win, is great, so are the rewards when you reach the fighting spirit!

Many thanks to our special guest, singer Rhyan Lowery, our generous sponsors: @Walmart and Pro Club Clothing.

Special thanks to our beloved former Olympic head boxing coach Joe Zanders, who is a USA boxing official and the Region 8 Silver Gloves director. Joe has been coaching our Compton Sheriff’s Station YAL’s boxing team for two years as a volunteer. We are honored to have him in our team.

We are proud of our boxing team, we are proud of all of our youth. This is what life is about, you dream, and then fight for it.
