#LASD Chief Bruce D. Chase presided over Security Officers graduating Class 54.

Graduating Security Officer Class 54 was presided over by LASD Chief Bruce D. Chase, Friday, June 21, 2019, at the Biscailuz Regional Training Center, Los Angeles. He was joined by Captain Richard A. Shear, in presenting diplomas to the 22 graduates.  The recruits completed the five week long academy at Biscailuz Regional Training Center, Los Angeles. Of the 22 recruits, there were 13 males and 9 females.


Class 54 is a culturally diverse group; 4 were born outside of the US (Colombia, El Salvador, Armenia, Mexico), 18 speak a language other than English (Spanish, Armenian, Russian), 2 have lived abroad (Armenia, Mexico), and 4 have a Bachelor’s degree or higher (Television & Film, Criminal Justice, Computer Science), 1 has Armed Services experience (US Army), 1 has Law Enforcement experience (South Gate Police Department), and 7 have family members in Law Enforcement (LASD, Corrections, San Diego SD, Santa Ana PD).


Chief Bruce D. Chase was the keynote speaker and delivered inspirational remarks to the graduates and their guests.
